XCMG XE245GH 24.5-tonne crawler excavator

The XCMG XE245GH is a 24-tonne class crawler excavator with an operating weight of 25,800 kg and a standard bucket capacity of 1.4 m³. It belongs to XCMG’s G series, a generation built around a China IV engine and a fully electronically controlled hydraulic system. For buyers comparing 25-tonne machines, the published specification sheet answers the first round of questions: how much it weighs, how hard it digs, how far it reaches, and what it needs to be transported. This guide sets out those figures and the points that decide whether a particular unit fits a job.

The core specification

The table below follows XCMG’s published configuration for the standard machine. Optional buckets and arms change some values, which are noted where relevant.

The 150 kW rating at 2,000 rpm and the 890 N·m torque peak at 1,200 rpm describe an engine tuned for low-speed lugging rather than high-speed travel. XCMG quotes an 8% torque increase over the earlier configuration, with the common operating band between 900 and 1,700 rpm. That matters in continuous loading, where the machine spends most of its time at part throttle and the hydraulic pumps draw torque in bursts.

Hydraulics and control

The hydraulic system uses two electronically controlled piston pumps, each rated at 240 L/min, feeding a large-diameter main valve. XCMG states that the layout reduces pressure loss by 10% and raises output efficiency by 4%. Under light-load arm digging, regeneration flow increases by 30%, which shortens the cycle without adding engine load.

The control layer is XCMG’s PIC feedforward system, which reads lever input and load before the engine responds. The published figure is a 90% improvement in transient response time, and the practical effect is a machine that picks up a load with less hesitation at the start of each cycle. Four working modes are available: P for production, N for fuel economy, B for breaker work, and T for high-altitude sites where air density changes the power match.

Digging force is the number most buyers check first. At 185 kN bucket force and 129 kN arm force, the XE245GH sits at the upper end of the 25-tonne class. That reserve supports rock bucket work and breaker attachment; the machine accepts a breaker with a 140 mm tool diameter.

Dimensions and working envelope

The standard boom measures 6,000 mm and the arm 2,964 mm. With that combination, maximum digging depth is 6,925 mm, maximum digging radius is 10,240 mm, maximum dumping height is 7,170 mm, and maximum digging height is 10,095 mm.

Transport dimensions are equally relevant to export buyers. Overall length is 10,250 mm, overall width 3,190 mm on 600 mm track shoes, and overall height 3,300 mm. Minimum tail swing radius is 3,025 mm, and minimum ground clearance is 481 mm. A 3.19 m width requires a low-bed trailer with the correct permits in most markets, and the 25.8 t operating weight sets the axle loading for the route.

The undercarriage uses a 3,650 mm crawler wheelbase and 2,590 mm track gauge. Ground pressure of 53.5 kPa is moderate for a machine of this weight, which helps on compacted fill and prepared surfaces; soft ground still calls for wider shoes or a working platform.

Configuration choices that move the price

Bucket and arm selection changes both capability and cost. The standard 1.4 m³ bucket suits general earthmoving. XCMG also lists a 1.5 m³ earthmoving bucket, a 1.4 m³ reinforced bucket, and a 0.9–1.2 m³ rock bucket. The optional 2,500 mm arm shortens reach and raises bucket force, a common choice for trenching and demolition.

Attachment piping, a hydraulic quick coupler, and rubber track pads are ordered separately. A quick coupler allows attachment changes within about one minute, which matters on sites that alternate between digging and breaking. Emission configuration also affects the destination: the XE245GH is built to China IV, and import documentation requirements differ by country. Buyers should confirm the unit’s paperwork against local rules before shipment.

What the specification sheet does not show

Published figures describe a new machine. A used unit’s value sits in wear, service history, and hydraulic condition, and those are not in the brochure.

Our six-stage inspection covers the points that change the buying decision. The hour meter is checked against the model record and service history. Engine oil pressure, coolant temperature, exhaust color, and fault codes are recorded at cold start, idle, and full load. Main pump pressure is measured against the OEM specification of 34.3/37 MPa, and boom, arm, and bucket cycle times are timed. Track shoe height, link wear, roller and idler play, and sprocket condition are measured rather than judged by eye. The boom, arm, and main frame are checked for cracks and repaired welds, followed by travel, swing, digging, and lifting tests under load.

Buyers receive an inspection report, 40 to 60 photographs, and a 2 to 3 minute walkaround video before paying a deposit. Third-party inspection through SGS or an equivalent body can be arranged within 3 to 5 business days.

Request a quote

Price depends on year, hours, undercarriage condition, bucket and arm configuration, and destination port. A firm quote requires those details, and we return pricing within 24 hours.

Send the requirement to:

  • Phone and WhatsApp: +86 13764468035
  • Email: shunfa@usedexcavator.shop
  • Location: Anhui, China

Include the destination port, the year range and hour range under consideration, the bucket type, and whether breaker piping or a quick coupler is needed. With those four items, we can match available units, send photographs and inspection records, and quote the machine and freight together as a one-stop solution.
