XCMG XE245G: Specifications, Configuration and Quote Price
Published XE245G figures, the Shangchai engine and SCR-free aftertreatment, hydraulic control, working envelope and what moves the price of a used unit.

The XCMG XE245G is a 24-tonne class crawler excavator built around a 25,800 kg operating weight and a 1.4 m³ standard bucket. It sits in the size band that contractors use for municipal works, road repair, yard loading and general earthmoving, where a 20-tonne machine runs out of reach and a 30-tonne unit costs more to move between sites. The specification sheet explains most of that positioning.
Core specifications at a glance

| Bucket digging force | kN | 185 with 1.4 m³ reinforced bucket |
| Arm digging force | kN | 129 |
| Main pump flow | L/min | 2 × 240 |
| Main relief pressure | MPa | 34.3 (boost 37) |
| Max. digging radius | mm | 10,180 |

| Max. digging height | mm | 10,095 |
| Max. dump height | mm | 7,120 |
| Boom / arm length | mm | 6,000 / 2,960 |
| Travel speed, high / low | km/h | 5.2 / 3.3 |
| Swing speed | rpm | 10.6 |
| Gradeability | ° | 35 |
| Track shoe width | mm | 600 |

XCMG publishes these figures for the standard configuration. Bucket size, track shoe width and attachment package can change the operating weight and some working-envelope numbers, so the final sheet should match the unit being quoted.
Engine and aftertreatment
The XE245G uses a XCMG-specified Shangchai SC7H six-cylinder engine rated at 129 kW at 2,000 rpm. Maximum torque is 850 Nm between 1,200 and 1,400 rpm, with a torque reserve of up to 36 percent. That torque curve matters in loading work: the engine holds speed when the bucket enters a pile, which reduces the throttle modulation operators use to compensate for a weaker power unit.
The aftertreatment route is EGR with DOC and DPF, without SCR. No diesel exhaust fluid is required, and XCMG quotes a maximum regeneration interval of more than 150 hours. For fleets working in regions where urea supply is unreliable, that removes a recurring consumable and a common derate trigger. Emission compliance should still be confirmed for the destination market, because the same model name can be supplied with different market-specific configurations.
Hydraulics and digging performance
The hydraulic system is fully electronic. Two main pumps are controlled independently, and a large-bore main valve manages flow to the cylinders and swing motor. XCMG states that the control strategy raises regeneration flow by 30 percent during light-load arm digging and cuts energy loss by more than 5 percent compared with the previous control platform. The main pumps deliver 2 × 240 L/min at a 34.3 MPa main relief setting, with a 37 MPa boost pressure available for heavy digging.
Digging force is 185 kN at the bucket and 129 kN at the arm when the machine is fitted with the 1.4 m³ reinforced bucket. Published sheets also show 172 kN for other bucket configurations. The difference is not a rounding error: bucket geometry and the attachment package change the number, so a buyer comparing quotations should check which bucket each figure refers to.
Swing torque is another point that affects cycle time in truck loading. XCMG upgraded the swing reducer and the non-uniformly distributed swing bearing, quoting a 15 percent increase in swing torque. The swing speed is 10.6 rpm. Combined with the 220 kN maximum traction force and 35-degree gradeability, the machine can work on uneven yard surfaces without needing a larger undercarriage.
Working envelope and dimensions
With the 6.0 m boom and 2.96 m arm, the XE245G reaches 10,180 mm at maximum digging radius and 6,910 mm at maximum digging depth. Maximum digging height is 10,095 mm, and maximum dump height is 7,120 mm. These figures suit trenching for utilities, basement excavation and loading into high-sided trucks without repositioning the machine for every pass.
The undercarriage uses a 600 mm track shoe as standard, with a 3,650 mm wheelbase and 2,590 mm track gauge. A wider gauge improves stability during full-reach lifting and digging; a narrower shoe option can reduce ground pressure and transport width. The choice should follow the ground conditions on the actual site, not a generic preference.
Cab, controls and working modes
The cab is a positive-pressure, noise-reduced design with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, automatic climate control, a suspension seat and a key-start switch. XCMG lists five-sided sun blinds and extended joysticks among the standard fittings. The control system offers four predefined modes: standard, power, breaker and plateau, plus custom settings. A one-touch control-pattern change between excavator and backhoe layouts is included, which helps when operators rotate between machines.
For attachment work, the hydraulic circuit supports hammer piping and mechanical or hydraulic quick couplers. A buyer planning to run a breaker should confirm the auxiliary flow and return-line configuration at the quotation stage, because the factory piping package and the attachment’s requirements have to match.
What changes the price
Two XE245G units can carry the same model name and still differ in value. The bucket range runs from 0.9 m³ to 1.5 m³, and the reinforced 1.4 m³ bucket is the reference point for the 185 kN digging force. Track shoe width, quick coupler type, hammer piping, boom and arm combination, and the emission configuration for the destination country all affect the final specification.
For used units, the hour meter, undercarriage wear, hydraulic pump pressure against the OEM specification, and the service history carry more weight than the brochure. A machine with a rebuilt undercarriage and a clean hydraulic report is a different purchase from one with original components at the end of their service life.

SHUNFA Machinery supplies construction machinery for export from China and quotes each XE245G against the actual unit and configuration: model year, hour meter, undercarriage condition, attachment package and destination port. Every machine is inspected before shipment, with an inspection report, 40 to 60 photographs and a walkaround video provided before any deposit. Third-party inspection through SGS or an equivalent agency can be arranged on request.
